France is widely regarded as a cultural hotbed - from medieval troubadours, major centers for musical development in European Renaissance, followed by baroque François Couperin and Jean-Philippe Rameau or opera masters such as Jean-Baptiste Lully, Georges Bizet, Jules Massenet or Léo Delibes; and nothing reveals this more than names such as Hector Berlioz, Francis Poulenc, Maurice Ravel, Eric Satie, Camile Saint-Saëns, Claude Debussy, Gabriel Fauré Olivier Messiaen, Pierre Boulez or Edith Piaf.

Carmina Slovenica at the world choral Olympics in Sochi and at the biggest European choral festival Choralies

Performing on stage of the impressive Roman auditorium, in front of 5000 audience members, Carmina Slovenica, under artistic direction of Karmina Šilec, concluded their guest appearance at the Choralies festival in Vaison-la-Romaine, Provance. 

As part of the biggest European choral festival Carmina Slovenica introduced themselves with two a cappella concerts – "Invocations" and "Songs of Sanctuary" – both of which completely captivated the audience. Under the guidance of the French conductor Valerie Fayet they also performed the programme Feminine elegance "à la Française".

"MEN IS KILLING FOR THE GLORY OF THEIR PSALMS"

A TOUR WITH TOXIC PSALMS IN FRANCE IS CLOSING CARMINA SLOVENICA'S SEASON

This year's season of Carmina Slovenica will close with another international tour. After a success at Operadagen Rotterdam at the end of May, Carmina Slovenica will respond to the invitation to the festival Choralies in Vaison-La-Romaine in France.

"Toxic Psalms– Ultimate collective experience", music-theatre project by Karmina Šilec, which was premiered performed last year in New York, will this time be performed in Provence at impressive Rome auditorium in front of 5000 spectators.

Carmina Slovenica at Operadagen Rotterdam

Carmina Slovenica absolutely fascinated the audience with their three performances at the Operadagen Festival in Rotterdam and got them on their feet on all occasions. At the opening night of the international festival Opera Days Carmina Slovenica performed with Toxic Psalms – Ultimate Collective Experience that was premiered last year at the Prototype Festival in New York. The reaction of the general as well as professional audience was remarkable, and Carmina Slovenica was subject to high admiration and fascination wherever it appeared during the festival.

GOLDEN MASK for "Best foreign production shown in Russia 2015"

Music theatre production WHEN THE MOUNTAIN CHANGED ITS CLOTHING has been awarded for "The Best Foreign Production, presented in Russia in 2015."

This weekend in Moscow one of the most prestigious and most important theatre festivals Golden Mask was completed, where some hundreds of opera, ballet and theatre houses and foreign production were presented. In the Stanislavsky Theatre, where the Awards Ceremony for more than 30 categories took place, Karmina Šilec received the award for the production When the mountain changed its clothing as "The Best Foreign Production, presented in Russia in 2015", in the company with an also winning theatre production by Boris Godunov from Lithuanian National Drama Theatre.
